The project is a collaboration between Ricardo Canada and Pratt & Whitney Canada. It aims to increase the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of high efficiency motor technologies.  

 

Demonstrating the maturity of technologies​

The partners wish to achieve a TRL of 6 within their technology maturity demonstration. The aim of the project involves a demonstration of the performance and the durability of the components in a simulated environment. The performance of the noise reduction system and the engine will also be evaluated on a test bench to ensure their maturity in collaboration with the Acoustic Group of Université de Sherbrooke (GAUS) and the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS).

These solutions for reducing weight and production costs will help to develop a competitive engine application while maintaining the same level of performance and durability. Demonstrating the maturity of the technologies will help Ricardo and Pratt & Whitney achieve a TRL of 6 on the technologies developed. These developments will help companies to generate economic and fiscal benefits in Quebec.
